I Heart Seattle: day 4 (4th of July)

For the 4th, we drove out to Deep Lake. This is where Seth used to come with his friend after a long day of work and float around the lake on air mattresses.

{Seth's Grandma F. joined us for a delicious brunch.}

After brunch, we took a walk on the path around the lake. It took us through some beautiful woods where we discovered interesting plants, flowers, and berries, and discussed what it would be like to live in a a cabin in that magical forest.

{then Seth pumped up the raft and we took a nice long float around the lake}

On the way home, we stopped at Seth's other grandparents' house for a short visit.

{Grandma and Grandpa D. excuse my crazy hair. that's what happens to me at a day on the beach.}

{the boys went out into their HUGE backyard and made up the game of horseshoe frisbee.}

 {seriously, look at the trees in their backyard. ginormous.}

{I even gave the game a try.}

{my amazing mother-in-law.}

Later that night, we went down to Tacoma to watch the fireworks over the waterfront. That whole city was packed. We finally found a spot up on some hill just as the fireworks were starting.

I took a million pictures. Literally. Don't worry, I'll spare you and only show a few. (The lighting was tricky, so they were horrible quality anyway.)

 {tons of smoke.}

It was seriously one of the best firework shows I've ever seen. After it ended, we could see other shows going on all across the water. It was breathetaking.
