On Sunday, we took our teensy little angel to church where Seth gave him a name and a blessing. Greyson Christian Dickson was given a heartfelt blessing by his daddy, surrounded by people who love him. And he slept peacefully through the whole thing. It was beautiful.
Afterword, we invited family and friends to our house for a luncheon. And because I think every little occasion has to have a theme, I couldn't help but make some decor to celebrate. The theme I chose was "Oh, the places you'll go" by Dr. Seuss. Because I think of his blessing as a great beginning that will send Little G off to amazing places throughout his life.
"Congratulations! Today is your day! You're off to great places, you're off and away!"
- Dr. Seuss
I had guests sign a copy of the book so Greyson can read it down the road and realize how many people support and care for him.
"Among the wise words that Dr. Seuss wrote, please write your advice, or just a small note. That Greyson is loved, he will certainly know, as he's going to all of the places he'll go."
On the clouds:
"You'll be on your way up! You'll be seeing great sights! You'll join the high fliers who soar to high hights!"
- Dr. Seuss
Lemon cupcakes with lemon-almond buttercream by my talented aunt Tya of Padicakes.
The easy backyard centerpieces of branches with yarn pompoms reminded me of Seuss's foofala trees.
Our dapper dude, looking so sharp and classy.
Little boy, I hope you know how much I, and so many others, love you. I cannot wait to see all the places you'll go, and will always be your number one fan.
